How to create an API key and Secret Key in Gate.io?


Before you create the API key and secret, please take note of the below points:


1. API keys are for read-only access.

2. Supported transaction types for this API connection are: Deposits, Withdrawals and All Trades

 

STEP 1: Log in to your Gate.io account.

 

STEP 2: Click on the profile icon in the top right corner of the page.

 

STEP 3: From the dropdown menu, select “API Management.”

 

STEP 4: Click on the "Create API Key" button located in the top right corner of the page.

 

STEP 5: In the "API Key Remark" box, enter a name that is easy to remember, such as “Binocs API.”

 

STEP 6: Select "APIv4 Key" in the "API Key Type" field.

 

STEP 7: Select "Classic Account" in the "Account Type" field.

 

STEP 8: Under permissions, select the "Spot/Margin Trade" and "Wallet" boxes, and set them to "Read-Only" for both.

 

STEP 9: Click on the "Submit" button.

 

STEP 10: A risk reminder message will pop up. Check both boxes and select “I Accept.”

 

STEP 11: For security verification, complete the fund password and 2FA Google Authentication, and then click on “Confirm.”

 

STEP 12: Once verified, your API Key and Secret Key will be displayed.
 

How to import your Gate.io data to Binocs via CSV file?

Before uploading it to Binocs, you must first download a CSV file from Binance containing your complete trade history.These CSV allow our system to read your account history to generate portfolio and compute taxes.


Note -
1. Please upload all CSVs for current and past years.

2. Only upload Gate.io CSVs for this exchange. 

3. Please ensure that for incremental transactions, data is added only after the last transaction date and with the same account label.

4. Supported transaction types for Gate.io are: Trade, Transfer, Trading Fee, Referral Fee, Deposit, Withdrawal


STEP 1: Log in to your Gate.io account .

 

STEP 2: Select "Wallet" from the main menu on the top of the page.

 

STEP 3: In the "Wallet" section, click on "Account Statement" from the dropdown menu.

 

STEP 4: Set the filter to "All" to display all transactions for the selected coin/token.

 

STEP 5: Choose the time range for which you want to view the transaction history by selecting the start and end dates.

 

STEP 6: Click on the "Filter" button to display the transaction history.

 

STEP 7: To download your transaction history as a CSV file, click on the "Download" button located in the top right corner of the page.

 

STEP 8: The downloaded CSV file comes  as "mypurselog".

 

STEP 9: Your CSV will look like this, when you open the Binance csv.

 

STEP 10: Save all the downloaded CSV files to your device for future reference.
