As of September 2021, Unocoin has over 1.3 million registered users and has facilitated more than $1 billion in cryptocurrency trades. The platform has become a popular choice for Indian cryptocurrency investors due to its user-friendly interface, regulatory compliance, and emphasis on education.


How are transactions in Unocoin taxed?

Your Unocoin transactions are subject to two types of taxes:

  • TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) of 1% for transactions over Rs. 50,000 in a year
  • A 30% flat tax on all profits from selling, swapping, or mining cryptocurrency

Does Unocoin provide tax documents?

No, Unocoin does not issue tax documents. You can find TDS information in your order details or Trading Report. To calculate your crypto taxes, you can either use your Uniocoin transaction history and do the calculations yourself or utilize a crypto tax calculator.

To Connect Unocoin in Binocs, you require a CSV or API key.


How to connect Unocoin to Binocs Via API?

To Connect with Unocoin, you require a pair of keys - an API key and a secret key. These keys allow our system to read your account history to generate portfolio and compute taxes.


How to create an Api key and Secret Key in Unocoin?

1. API keys are for read-only access.

2.Supported transaction types for this API connection are: Deposits, All Trades, Buy and Sell, Transfers


STEP 1: Log in to your Unocoin account using your credentials.


STEP 2: Navigate to the bottom left corner of the page and click on the "More" option.


STEP 3: From the drop-down menu, select “API Management.”


STEP 4: Click on the "Generate Token" button to proceed.


STEP 5: Provide a name for the token, such as “Binocs API.”


STEP 6: By default, the permission will be set to “Read.”


STEP 7: Your public key (API key) will be generated automatically.


STEP 8: Copy the public key and store it securely in a safe location.


STEP 9: Click on the "Submit" button to proceed.


STEP 10: Enter the OTP (One Time Password) sent to your registered mobile number.


STEP 11: Select "Continue" to proceed.


STEP 12: Your secret key will be generated .


STEP 13: Copy  the Secret Key and paste them in the Binocs Application.


STEP 14: You don't need to store them anywhere as keys can be generated any number of times by following the same process.


Note that, you should not use the same pair of key and secret keys anywhere else as it may result in API errors in the application.


How to import your Unocoin data to Binocs via CSV file?

Before uploading it to Binocs, you must first download a CSV file from Unocoin containing your complete trade history.These CSV allow our system to read your account history to generate portfolio and compute taxes.

Note -
1. Please aggregate all CSVs for current and past years.

2.Only upload Unocoin CSVs for this exchange. 

3.Please ensure that for incremental transactions, data is added only after the last transaction date and with the same account label.


STEP 1: Log in to your Unocoin account using your credentials.


STEP 2: Click on the “Wallet” option displayed on the left-hand side of the screen.


STEP 3: On the right-hand side corner of the Wallet page, select the “Cumulative Tax Report” option.


STEP 4: Select the operation type as “All.”


STEP 5: Choose a custom date range for the report that you require in CSV format.


STEP 6: Click on the Download button to generate the report.


STEP 7: Your CSV report will be downloaded automatically.


STEP 8: Your CSV will look like this ,when you open the Unocoin CSV.


STEP 9: Save all the downloaded CSV files to your device for future reference.

Is Unocoin obligated to report to the ITD?

Yes, Unocoin is obligated, like all Indian crypto exchanges, to report TDS to the ITD. The ITD may also request customer data to enforce tax compliance.
