Selection Procedure
- Rating By 3 Judges (Each judge is assigned a certain number of candidates. Each candidate is rated twice by the judge anonymously.)
- Candidate Rating (1-10) - udges will evaluate the candidates on a scale of 1-10 based on their responses in the scholarship application form on leadership skills, such as developing people, entrepreneurial mindset, influence, critical thinking, etc.
- Top 2 Candidate - A score is calculated to shortlist the top 2 candidates based on the judge’s rating, the candidate’s academic performance and other social initiatives.
- Final Winner Selection - The panel of judges will select the winners after evaluating each candidate’s profile.
Privacy Policy
By submitting an application, the applicant automatically grants Binocs permission to post the applicant’s name, college, photo (if submitted), and an essay on behalf of Binocs. We are also granted permission to call and/or send you information regarding your application.
Once the winner has been selected and announced, we will destroy all sensitive information related to the applicant.
We will remove any information pertaining to the student at the student’s request.
User Communications
When you send email communications to Binocs, its representatives may retain those communications in order to process or respond to your enquiries or application as related to the scholarship. Binocs and its representatives will not knowingly sell, share, rent or otherwise transfer your information other than in accordance with the terms set forth in this Privacy Policy. By participating in this scholarship, you give us your exclusive consent to confirm your admission and attendance at the college or university by contacting the institution for verification.
Terms & Conditions
All submitted photos, videos, and essays must be original work of the applicant. Only one submission may be entered per student, per year. Duplicate entries will be disqualified. By submitting an application to Binocs, you certify that all the information you have provided is original, accurate, and complete.
The applicant automatically grants Binocs and/or its representatives permission to:
- Use their name, photo, essay and award amount, if any, in announcements or articles (i.e. social media, newsletter, etc) issued by Binocs.
- Post the applicant’s name, college or university, video, and an essay on binocs.co website.
- Call and/or send information to the applicant regarding their application.
- Winner will be notified via email, and announced publicly, as well as on social media pages.

Anyone meeting the following criteria is eligible for one of the two US$1000 scholarship:
- Have proof of enrollment in a degree course from a recognized university or college.
Are under-graduate and post-graduate students eligible for the scholarship?
Students from all courses are eligible for this scholarship.
Would we be informed if the winner is selected from our university?
Yes, we will inform you by email immediately after we select the winners.
Does the scholarship only cater to US institutions and citizens?
No, Binocs Scholarship For Emerging Leaders is a global scholarship. Students from all regions, courses and nationalities are eligible for this scholarship.
Is there any registration fee for the application?
No, there’s no application cost involved.
When will the results be announced?
The winners will be announced on 31th August 2023
The award is US$2000 for a student. So, in which currency will you disburse the amount if we are from “X” country?
The scholarship amount will be disbursed in USD only.
What are the scholarship timelines?
We will reach out to universities starting in July. The scholarship application is open until 15 July 2023. Afterward, we would commence the selection process, which would take 2-3 months. We would announce the winners by 31 August 2023.
What is the selection process?
The selection process is as follows:
- Each candidate is evaluated anonymously by three independent judges.
- The candidates are rated on a scale of 1-10 based on their responses in the scholarship application form on leadership skills, such as developing people, entrepreneurial mindset, influence and critical thinking.
- Each candidate’s profile is evaluated, and the expert leadership evaluation committee votes to select the final winners.
